THAT'S ALOT OF LOVE!!!!!
In 2012 we presented LOVE TV through out the five boroughs in partnership with the NYC Department of Transports Urban Art Program.
It was a monumental effort involving a long term engagement with local community groups who were our individual site partners. Through these grass roots relationships we tried to build a genuine program of guests who represented the individual communties and their public spaces. This was inhanced by opening up the LOVE TV booth to the general public for one on one discussions about, love, where they live and what they believe in.
It was "Extreme Art Making" We had a small team. Myself, my co-producer Victora Johnstone, Spiral Man the Enigma, Victoria Waghorn the Videographer and Hugh her assistant and peter Buck Dettman my MC. We had an enormous amount of ground to cover mostly communting to the sites via the subway often hours away. Here our driver Kane would meet us with the installation which he had driven from the old peoples home in Brooklyn where it was stored. We would then set up the installation, perform the show, bump it out, then commute back to lower Manhattan where we were staying.
We would then back on the phones again securing the 250 guests we had participate on the show, editing and uploading the video and feeding the Social media.
We met some amazing people, heard some incrediable stories and survived!
